Filmmaker

Writer, director, editor (2008-2015)

I wanted to be a filmmaker from the moment I saw Toy Story. That was a seminal experience for me and started a long term obsession with film making, film structure, and computer animation. After I finished highschool I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to do and explored a few different projects including comic books and writing. I also made some short films with friends which was so much fun that I decided to pursue a career in film.

That led me to study a Bachelor of Creative Arts majoring in film at Flinders University. After I finished film school I continued making short films but also started editing other films, tv shows, trailers, and anything else I could get my hands on. This was a formative experience in terms of my work ethic, the need to meet deadlines, and how to put in the long hours.

I’ve since moved away from film work but the skills, attitude and approach to projects I learnt in this period continues to impact my approach to creative and technical projects.
